🎖️ The “Victory in the Hearts of Millions” patriotic campaign, organized by the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB), brought together Belgorod’s leading universities — Belgorod State University (BelSU), Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture (BSIAC), V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University (BSTU), and Belgorod University of Economics and Law (BUEL) — as well as educational, public and diplomatic organizations and representatives from countries both near and far abroad, including Palestine, Ecuador, Egypt, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, China, Angola and Tunisia.

✍️ A congratulatory letter addressed to the Association was sent by Svetlana Anatolievna Kuznetsova, Head of the All-Russian Public Organization “We Are Russians”, Advisor to the Chairman of the “A Just Russia — For Truth” parliamentary faction, and Honorary Advisor to AIGSB.

📽️ The event also featured a screening of the video project “Requiem.”

The patriotic media project was created jointly by the Media Center of BelSU, the Center for Intercultural Communication, the Center for Civic and Patriotic Education of Students, and the BelSU Student Union. Bringing together people of different nationalities, ages and faiths around the values of peace, friendship and the rejection of the ideology of war, the project was centered around the powerful message: “Remember! Through the years, through the centuries — remember!” The project was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.

✔️ The project was presented in the form of a video flash mob, which had been prepared over an extended period of time. Each participant recited an excerpt from Robert Rozhdestvensky’s renowned “Requiem.”

The commemorative programme also featured performances by:

📍 Maria Askari, a student of Grade 3 at School No. 19 in Belgorod and a member of the Alter Ego Theatre Studio, who performed a poem dedicated to the heroism and selfless sacrifice of women during the Great Patriotic War;

📍 Fatma Zairi, a student at V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University from Tunisia;

📍 Kunya Ana Jandira Parreira, a student of the Preparatory Department at Belgorod State University from Angola;

📍 the creative ensemble of the Belgorod State Center for Folk Art;

📍 Romero Tito Sergio Sebastian, a graduate of the Institute of Economics and Management at Belgorod State University.

The exhibition featured photographs of campaign participants, as well as works by Belgorod artists provided by the Union of Artists of the Belgorod Region, chaired by Wahbi Abdullah. The exhibition also showcased paintings by artists from Bahrain and Egypt, provided by V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University and Dr. Allaham Yaser Seifiddin, Head of the Department of Sustainable Development and a member of the Greater Eurasia–Africa Committee of the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia.

The Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB) Celebrates Its Second Anniversary

On September 1, 2025, the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB) celebrates its second anniversary.

Over the past two years, the Association has become a welcoming community for students and graduates from Eastern Europe and Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, Africa, and Latin America. It brings together people of different cultures, languages and traditions, fostering an atmosphere of friendship, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue.

Today, AIGSB serves as one of the key platforms for bringing together international students and graduates from different countries who study and reside in the Belgorod Region.

Key Achievements and Initiatives, 2023–2025

Over the 2023–2025 period, the Association’s team successfully implemented a range of international, educational, cultural and social initiatives.

1. Representing the Belgorod Region on the International Stage

October 2024 — AIGSB participated in the International Graduates Forum in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Association’s delegation presented its experience and best practices, exchanged expertise with organizations from CIS countries, and discussed prospects for joint educational and cultural initiatives.

September 2023 — AIGSB took part in regional and nationwide meetings addressing the integration and adaptation of international students.

August 2024 — With the support and facilitation of AIGSB, a cooperation agreement was signed with universities in Iraq.

August 2025 — Iraqi students arrived in Belgorod to undertake a language internship at Belgorod State University (BelSU).

May 2025 — AIGSB organized a large-scale international patriotic campaign that brought together participants in Russia and abroad.

2. Implementation of a Grant-Funded Project

February 2025 — AIGSB won a competitive grant awarded by the Government of the Belgorod Region.

March 2025 — The Association launched an online information portal dedicated to cultural, educational and international events and opportunities for international students and graduates. The portal serves as a centralized source of announcements, news and opportunities to participate in the social and cultural life of the region.

3. Engagement at the Federal Level

April 2025 — An AIGSB delegation visited the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the role of international students in promoting a positive image of Russia abroad, as well as proposals for strengthening cooperation between universities and student associations.

May 2025 — AIGSB was awarded a commemorative medal by the “We Are Russians” public movement in recognition of its significant contribution to preserving, developing and promoting the culture, ideals and values of Russia’s multinational civilization.

4. Cultural and Educational Initiatives

The Association has organized and participated in a wide range of cultural and educational initiatives, including:

• meetings and adaptation programmes for international first-year students;
• festivals celebrating the national cultures of the Belgorod Region;
• the international festival “Our Home — Planet Earth” at V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University;
• March 2025 — the President and active members of AIGSB attended the Maslenitsa celebration at Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture, joining international students in experiencing the traditions and atmosphere of one of Russia’s most distinctive cultural celebrations.

5. Volunteer Activities of International Students

International students and graduates affiliated with the Association actively contribute to volunteer initiatives. They assist at temporary accommodation centers, participate in the unloading and distribution of essential supplies, and support social initiatives throughout the Belgorod Region.

This work serves as further evidence that international students contribute to the development of the region not only through education and cultural exchange, but also through active engagement in the everyday life of local communities.

Our Plans for the Future

Looking ahead, AIGSB plans to:

• expand international cooperation with graduate associations in other regions and countries;
• launch an annual International Students Forum of the Belgorod Region;
• further develop the Association’s media platforms, including the creation of dedicated projects and resources for international students.

Perhaps our most important achievement is the opportunity to demonstrate that different countries, languages and cultures can come together in pursuit of a shared future.

AIGSB is more than an organization. It is a community where every student can become part of a truly international family.

And there are new horizons ahead — new projects, new opportunities and new friends from around the world.

AIGSB at the First World Public Assembly

Moscow, September 20–21, 2025. The First World Public Assembly (WPA) was held at the World Trade Center in Moscow — a unique humanitarian forum of a new format, organized by the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Assembly of the Peoples of the World.”

The main theme of the forum was “A New World of Conscious Unity.” Over the course of two days, the Assembly brought together more than 4,000 participants from over 150 countries, including diplomats, ministers, scholars, leaders of civil society movements and spiritual traditions, journalists, and representatives of youth organizations.

The forum addressed some of the most pressing issues of the 21st century, including education and science, economics and politics, artificial intelligence and the latest advances in human development, as well as prospects for international cooperation in the face of global challenges and rapid societal change.

📌 The programme featured a plenary session, seven panel discussions and dozens of thematic working sessions dedicated to strategic partnership, the values of the emerging world order, spiritual and cultural cooperation, and public diplomacy. The Assembly concluded with the presentation of the “For Service to Humanity” Award and a large-scale intercultural concert.

AIGSB at the Heart of International Dialogue

The Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB) made a meaningful contribution to the forum’s programme:

• AIGSB President Ahmed Mansour spoke about the role of international student associations as an instrument for strengthening humanitarian ties and fostering international understanding.
• Alexandra Ozheredova presented a report entitled “Artificial Intelligence as a Translator of Worlds: Intercultural Communication, Digital Media and New Information Literacy.”
• International students highlighted the importance of personal experiences of integration in building trust and understanding between countries.

A particularly symbolic moment of people-to-people diplomacy was the presentation of portraits of Russian and Belgorod university leaders to A.S. Alimov, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, by Mohamed Saleh, an AIGSB volunteer.

The forum demonstrated that open dialogue and international communication can contribute to the development of a new humanitarian space founded on trust, cultural understanding and respect for diversity.

On September 25, 2025, a landmark event took place in the Small Hall of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation: the patriotic campaign “Victory in the Hearts of Millions,” organized by the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB), received official support at the federal level and was passed on for further implementation across Russian regions under a new name — “Memory Relay — Along the Roads of Victory.”

The exhibition was originally organized by AIGSB and successfully held in the Belgorod Region in May 2025, bringing together the region’s universities and international partners. The initiative quickly attracted broad public attention, and its materials were subsequently presented in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

“For us, it is particularly meaningful that our initiative has received such a significant new dimension during the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland,” said Ahmed Mansour, President of AIGSB. “Preserving the historical truth about the feat of the Soviet people and educating younger generations on the foundation of genuine values are principles that unite us all, regardless of nationality or place of residence.”

As part of the “Memory Relay — Along the Roads of Victory” project, a series of exhibitions is planned in cities across Russia, as well as in countries near and far abroad. The programme will also include online presentations featuring historians and veterans.

The Memory Relay will continue for more than a year and will conclude in September 2026 with a large-scale exhibition in China, dedicated to the cooperation between the Soviet Union and China in the struggle against Japanese militarism.

The initiative has become a genuine people’s chronicle of remembrance, in which every city and every country contributes its own chapter to our shared historical memory of Victory.

📣 A presentation of the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB) was held at V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University as part of the National Unity Day celebrations at the University’s Preparatory Faculty for International Students. 🎓

During the meeting, students learned more about the Association’s activities, upcoming plans and projects, as well as opportunities to become actively involved in its initiatives, develop their own projects and contribute to the international student community. 💬✨

On November 26, the interuniversity business simulation “University of the Future” was held at the Proektoria space of Belgorod State University (BelSU), bringing together students from four leading universities in the region. The event provided a platform for discussing contemporary challenges in education, the integration of shared values, and the development of innovative models for the university of the future.

“The university of the future is built not through documents, but by people who have the courage to think differently.”

This idea was echoed and emphasized in their welcoming remarks by Ahmed Mansour, President of the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB), and Nikolai Sergeevich Tsybulya, Vice-Rector and Director for International Cooperation at Belgorod State University (BelSU), as they addressed the participants.

They emphasized that meaningful change in education does not begin with orders, offices or regulatory frameworks. It begins with people who are willing to seek new solutions, ask challenging questions and have the courage to put forward their own vision.

One of the highlights of the simulation was a lecture by Roman Andreevich Travin on public policy in the sphere of spiritual and moral values and its relationship to national security. The topic proved both highly relevant and accessible, engaging students in a meaningful discussion. The conversation that followed gave participants an opportunity to reflect on how these values can be incorporated into the educational process not formally, but thoughtfully and purposefully.

As part of the programme, Alexandra Ozheredova (AIGSB) spoke about contemporary educational trends and global developments, highlighting key directions that are shaping the evolution of universities around the world.

The educational part of the event generated genuine interest among the students. Many noted that it was the first time they had seen so clearly how global processes and shared values are directly connected to their own education, opportunities and future career trajectories.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this meaningful event.

Our special thanks go to the distinguished experts, team moderators, volunteers and all participants who came not simply to “play a game,” but to work, think critically, debate and put forward their own ideas and vision.

Students from Belgorod State University (BelSU), V.G. AIGSB and the Belgorod Regional Branch of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia Hold Roundtable Discussion on “Defenders of the Motherland Throughout History and Across Nations”

The Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB) and the Belgorod Regional Branch of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia held a roundtable discussion entitled “Defenders of the Motherland Throughout History and Across Nations.”

The event was held on the occasion of International Mother Language Day and on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day. Russian and international students from Belgorod State University (BelSU) and V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University, representatives of diaspora communities in the Belgorod Region, and members of the expert community gathered to discuss a range of pressing contemporary issues, including peoples’ struggles for freedom and the right to preserve their identity; armed conflicts of the 21st century; information warfare and the influence of the media on public consciousness; the distortion and falsification of history; and the preservation of native languages and historical memory.

The participants were welcomed by Nabigulla Magomedovich Bagamaev, Chairman of the Council of the Belgorod Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia.” He emphasized that 2026 has been designated by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia:

“Historically, whenever our vast country has faced common adversity, all its peoples have united and stood together against a common enemy… Together, we are strong.”

The event also featured Sergey Nikolaevich Prokopenko, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Department of World History at BelSU, who participated as an expert.

“Today, a struggle is being waged for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our great country, our beloved Motherland with its centuries-old history… We will stand firm, we will prevail. We have nowhere to retreat!”

Fatma Zaibi, a student at V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University from Tunisia, together with Vadim Stolbov, a student at Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture, prepared a presentation on Tunisia’s struggle for independence. In her presentation, Fatma emphasized that the Soviet Union and its successor state, Russia, had consistently supported national liberation movements in the Middle East and African countries.

Hutaifa Hasan Saleh Alnaamneh, a Jordanian student at the Medical Institute of BelSU and a representative of the volunteer corps of AIGSB, spoke about the humanitarian situation in Belgorod:

“The situation in Belgorod is challenging, and we see that many people need assistance… For us, helping others is simply natural. It means remaining human.”

The roundtable was moderated by Elena Borisovna Nazarenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication at V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University and a specialist at the Department of International Cooperation of BelSU.

She noted that the idea for the roundtable was inspired by Nikolai Alekseevich Sologubovsky, a scholar, historian, journalist and war correspondent, and invited participants to explore his books and photography exhibition.

At the conclusion of the event, participants created a collective poster featuring the unifying message “We Are Together,” writing the phrase in their native languages: Russian, Arabic, French, Creole and Chinese.

Ahmed Mansour, PhD, President of the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region, expressed his gratitude to the Belgorod State Center for Folk Art for its assistance in organizing and holding the roundtable, as well as to all participants and experts for their meaningful contribution to the event.

“Events like this bring us closer together and allow us to gain a deeper understanding of the national character, history and culture of the peoples of Russia… We are together!”

Summing up the results of the roundtable, Elena Borisovna Nazarenko emphasized:

“The Motherland can be defended not only with weapons in hand. Everyone should do whatever is within their power… And it does not matter what citizenship you hold or what your nationality is. What matters is that you are a HUMAN BEING.”

AIGSB Representative Attends the First International Forum “Rare Women”

On April 24, Alexandra Ozheredova, a representative of the Association of International Graduates and Students of Belgorod Region (AIGSB), attended the inaugural International Forum “Rare Women”, held in Moscow.

The event brought together more than 400 participants from 15 countries and provided a platform for open, substantive international dialogue. The discussions focused on the role of women in the family and healthcare system, particularly in the context of supporting children with rare (orphan) diseases and developmental disabilities.

The forum addressed a number of important and often underestimated issues, including the impact of a mother’s emotional well-being on treatment outcomes, her role as a full partner in the therapeutic process, and the importance of family resilience as a factor contributing to the effectiveness of medical care.

Particular attention was given to the need to reconsider the conventional perception of the “strong woman” in favor of a more attentive and compassionate approach — one that recognizes a woman’s right to vulnerability, care and support.

The forum made a profound impression through its high level of expertise, diversity of international practices and, at the same time, its honest and open discussion of genuinely complex issues.

It was an important initiative that contributes to shaping a more humane and inclusive agenda and opens new avenues for continued international dialogue.

The “My Belgorod” Events Marathon Brings Together Representatives of the Educational, Public and International Communities

On May 21–22, 2026, the large-scale “My Belgorod” Events Marathon was held in Belgorod, bringing together representatives of five higher education institutions in the city, government authorities, the educational community, international and public organizations, as well as students from countries around the world.

The Marathon provided a platform for international dialogue, cooperation and the strengthening of humanitarian ties, bringing participants together to address issues related to international education, intercultural interaction and youth cooperation.

The distinguished guests of the Marathon included Walid Hamid Shiltagh, Ambassador of the League of Arab States to the Russian Federation; Ali Goutali, former Ambassador of Tunisia to the Russian Federation and a prominent public and international figure; Dr. Khoury Mudallal Mtanyous, Head of the RUSSAR Foundation; and Svetlana Anatolievna Kuznetsova, Chairwoman of the All-Russian Public Movement “We Are Russians” and an expert in cross-cultural communication.

A key element of the programme was a panel discussion held in an open dialogue format, which provided students with an opportunity to address their questions directly to experts. The discussion covered the adaptation of international students, employment and internship opportunities, migration-related issues, support for students facing difficult circumstances, the development of international education, and opportunities for the professional development of international graduates in Russia.

The panel brought together representatives of the Government of the Belgorod Region, university administrators and specialists responsible for international cooperation, representatives of the Migration Affairs Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Belgorod Region, a delegation from the Assembly of the Peoples of the World, as well as representatives of public and international organizations.

The first day of the Marathon featured an extensive programme of cultural and educational activities. It included exhibitions presented by the Belgorod Regional Branch of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, the photography exhibition “Russia in Faces” by Mohamed-Abdelazim-Gaballa-Ibrahim Saleh, as well as presentations by the Mahmoud Darwish Center for Arabic Language and Culture, the Chinese Language Center at BelSU, and the Serbian Resource Center, highlighting the cultural diversity and traditions of different countries and peoples.

The programme also included Arabic and Chinese calligraphy workshops, as well as a traditional tea ceremony conducted by students of the International Information Center at BelSU from China, Russia and Arab countries.

The first day concluded with the gala concert “The World on One Stage,” which brought together students from Russia, Haiti, Ecuador, Indonesia, Turkmenistan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The concert was dedicated to the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, observed annually on May 21. It emphasized that, despite differences in language, traditions and cultural heritage, people are united by mutual respect, a commitment to cooperation and a shared aspiration to build a common future.

A particularly significant moment of the evening was the presentation of a commemorative medal of the All-Russian Public Movement “We Are Russians” to Dr. Walid Hamid Shiltagh, Ambassador of the League of Arab States to the Russian Federation, in recognition of his significant contribution to the preservation, development and promotion of the culture, ideals and values of Russia’s multinational civilization.

The concert programme featured students and creative groups from Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture (BSIAC), Belgorod State University (BelSU), Belgorod University of Economics and Law (BUEL), and V.G. Shukhov Belgorod State Technological University, as well as creative groups from across Belgorod, including the Belgorod Center for Folk Art Dance Ensemble, the Stimul Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble, the BelVoice Ensemble, the Helen and the Kids Vocal Studio, international students, solo performers and university creative groups.

The concert concluded with the performance “White City, We Are With You,” which became a symbolic expression of unity, friendship and solidarity.

The Second Day of the Marathon

The second day of the Marathon comprised a series of meetings and events involving distinguished guests, experts and representatives of the international community.

The programme began with a meeting between the Marathon’s distinguished guests and experts and representatives of the Government of the Belgorod Region, headed by Andrey Viktorovich Milyokhin, Minister of Education of the Belgorod Region.

Held at Belgorod State University, the meeting focused on international cooperation in the fields of education, healthcare, agriculture and entrepreneurship, as well as prospects for further humanitarian and academic cooperation.

During their visit to BelSU, the delegation also visited the Mahmoud Darwish Center for Arabic Language and Culture, where the guests were introduced to the history of the Center, its traditions, and its cultural and educational programmes. Particular attention was paid to cultural exchange and student mobility.

The next university to welcome the delegation as part of the “My Belgorod” Events Marathon was Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economics and Law (BUEL). The Marathon participants met with the university’s administration, faculty members, staff and students.

BUEL hosted a special concert programme for the distinguished guests and Marathon participants, showcasing the region’s cultural and artistic traditions.

Following the university visits, the participants laid flowers at the memorial to the victims of the missile attack of December 30, 2023.

The second day concluded with a visit to the “White Quarter,” a large-scale public and business development project in central Belgorod being implemented as part of an integrated territorial development programme.

The “My Belgorod” Events Marathon once again brought together representatives of the educational, public and international communities, providing an important platform for professional dialogue, strengthening humanitarian ties and promoting international cooperation.

Faster! Higher! Stronger Together!

From July 21 to 24, the Moscow Region hosted the international sports festival “Path of Unity,” organized by the Association of International Students of the Russian Federation and bringing together international students from different regions of Russia.

Among the festival participants were international students from the Belgorod Region, representing Belgorod State University (BelSU) and Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture. AIGSB activists demonstrated a high level of engagement and represented the region with distinction at this international student event.

The importance and national scope of the festival were underscored by the participation of representatives of the higher education sector. Olga Viktorovna Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, also attended the event.

Over the course of four days, the festival brought together sport, teamwork and intercultural exchange. Participants competed in laser tag, gorodki, dodgeball, tug of war and other disciplines. One of the key challenges was the “Path of Unity” team obstacle course, which tested not only participants’ strength and endurance, but also their ability to support and rely on one another.

Beyond the sporting competitions, the festival provided an opportunity for students from different countries to communicate, exchange experiences and build new connections. Participants had the chance to learn more about one another’s cultures and spend time together in an atmosphere of friendship and unity.

The “Path of Unity” demonstrated once again that sport is a universal language capable of bringing people together regardless of their country, culture or language.
